It's Getting Better

Current Conditions

Temperature: 63°F
Feels Like: 64°F
Winds: North @ 15 mph
Humidity: 33%
Dew Point: 34°F

After a few days of chilly temperatures it looks like the warm weather will return. A high pressure moved through the area and with it brought the sun and warmth. The cold front that dropped temperatures has moved out. The jet stream has shifted and put the Chippewa Valley into a ridge keeping the cold out. There is a lot of moisture out to the west and south and as that moisture moves so to could the potential for some rain. Winds should also shift to the south which would bring in even more moisture. Tomorrow watch out for some rain.

Some More Clouds

Current Conditions

Temperature: 52°F
Feels Like: 48°F
Winds: SW @ 15 mph
Humidity: 71%
Dew Point: 43°F

Doom and gloom in the area as there is major cloud cover. Temperatures are a little chilly as it is currently 52°F with winds coming from the southwest. There is a low front in the area that is with an occluded and close cold front has dropped temperatures. We are near a ridge in the jet stream that is also causing the cold temperatures. With this low and cold front there is a lot of dry air which will keep things drier for tonight. The system we are currently experiencing has create a lot of precipitation to our east. For tomorrow I expect a similar day as there are no systems that look to be moving through.

Clouds, Just Clouds

Current Conditions

Temperature: 58°F
Feels Like: 59°F
Winds: NW @ 9 mph
Humidity: 66%
Dew Point: 47°F

After a brief stint in Tampa, Florida I have returned to Wisconsin. The weather in Tampa was very routine for the area as it was in the 80s all week. There was a low front off of the eastern coast all weak that had the potential for precipitation. But, I digress. Here in beautiful Eau Claire temperatures are in stark contrast as winds from the north are keeping things cool and a cold front that moved through brought precipitation, and thunder and lightning. Temperatures should rise and winds could potentially shift to the south bringing warmth. For tomorrow I expect a warmer, sunnier day.

Nice Days

Current Conditions

Temperature: 65°F
Feels Like: 64°F
Winds: SE @ 5 mph
Humidity: 25%
Dew Point: 33°F

The nice weather has come for a while and has brought plenty of sun and warmth to the area. There is currently a high that is sitting on top of the state that has keep temperatures warm for now. This high has put us in a ridge shape for the jet stream so that is why the temperatures have been rather exceptional. There is a cold front out west but it should not cause any problems as warm air should stay for now. The wind is coming from the southeast which has the potential to create some storms in the area. I would look out for the possibility of a storm for tomorrow.

Another Glorious Day!

Current Conditions

Temperature: 68°F
Feels Like: 69°F
Winds: N @ 14 mph
Humidity: 22%
Dew Point: 28°F

The weather begins to look more like spring and summer as temperatures continue to rise into the upper 60s and low 70s. The jet stream has become quite diminished and has dropped down to near the sub-tropical jet. There is a cold front to the west that should not cause much of a problem as it moves towards us. We are not seeing any disruption or changes in pressure or systems which will continue to bring warm temperatures. For tomorrow I expect another warm day as the shine continues to shine uninhibited.

Warming Up!

Current Conditions

Temperature: 53°F
Feels Like: 52°F
Winds: WNW @ 12 mph
Humidity: 20%
Dew Point: 13°F

Things begin to look like they should be turning around as temperatures begin to rise through the week. High pressure has crept into the area bringing warmer air. The jet stream has shifted moving us into more of a ridge that should continue the warming trend. There is a low out west that could bring with it some precipitation as moisture is continuously fed into any system that develops. For tomorrow I predict a very nice day with warmer temperatures but there is a chance of rain later with the low coming through.

Warming Up

Current Conditions

Temperature: 46°F
Feels Like: 39°F
Winds:West @ 14 mph
Humidity: 31%
Dew Point: 17°F

Periods of snow yesterday were seen but nothing to leave any accumulation. Today has been similar minus the precipitation as a cold front of dry air moved through keeping temperatures cool. Winds from the north should keep things a little colder for a while. The jet stream has started to drop which could bring a warm up for the near future. Warm air from out west should bring temperatures up for tomorrow and the weekend.

Cloudy, Again

Current Conditions

Temperature: 41°F
Feels Like: 34°F
Winds:West @ 12 mph
Humidity: 57%
Dew Point: 27°F

A bit of a cold one today as clouds cover much of the area. A cold front has moved in that has really dropped the temperatures. We're currently sitting at 41°F, which is a big contrast from last week. Winds from the north are going to continue to bring the cold as the jet stream will also effect the winds. There is a small line to the north that, if it drops, could bring some precipitation in the form of snow and rain. For tomorrow I expect a continued cold streak.

Chilly and Cloudy

Current Conditions

Temperature: 52°F
Feels Like: 52°F
Winds:North @ 4 mph
Humidity: 86%
Dew Point: 48°F

The previous week was a great weather week as sun and warmth lingered. But, for the weekend things changed. Clouds moved in and a drop of temperatures made for a gloomy area. Moving through are a low and the remnants of a cold front. These conditions have brought the rain we see today. This rain is part of a larger system that is covering much of the upper Midwest. There is still some rain to come tonight and we are looking at the possibility of a cold front dropping into the area. This cold front should bring a drop in temperatures that should effect the whole week.

Bright and Shiny

Current Conditions

Temperature: 75°F
Feels Like: 76°F
Winds:West @ 6 mph
Humidity: 28%
Dew Point: 40°F

Today has been as of a day as any for the week. There is plenty of sunshine and warmth as the jet stream has moved north and is keeping the cold temperatures at bay. high pressure to the southwest is bringing in warmth. This warm air looks to be moving away as a cold front moves in from the north bringing a drop in temperatures. But let's not worry about that for today or tomorrow. Expect tomorrow to be the last high warmth day for the future. Though a drop is expected I predict a very nice day for tomorrow.

Another Nice Day

Current Conditions

Temperature: 68°F
Feels Like: 73°F
Winds: North @ 4 mph
Humidity: 14%
Dew Point: 17°F

With plenty of sunshine and virtually no cloud cover today was yet another bright, beautiful day! A high pressure system has been moving through keeping winds coming from the south bringing the warmth. The jet stream continues to rise above us keeping the cold out. There is a warm front within the proximity that should keep things pleasant. Though there is some low pressure and a cold front that look to be moving in, this should not be a problem until after the weekend. For tomorrow I expect, and you should too, another nice, sunny day.

Have A Nice Day

Another nice day here in the Chippewa Valley as a nice mix of clouds and sun happened to move into the area. High pressure moved in and created some warm southerly winds that can keep us warm for the next few days. The jet stream has continued to be in a meridinal pattern leaving us in a ridge. Temperatures soared into the uppers 60s which was cooler than yesterday but comfortably. This can be expected when a cold front moves through. With the continued southerly winds we should expect warm temperatures for tomorrow, warmer than today.

April 11-12

Warm and pleasant conditions mustered their way towards us as temperatures rise above 70 on Sunday and with high 60s on Saturday. There is a line of storms coming through with a cold front on its way. Expect rain and possibly some thunder and lightning for tonight. The jet stream has moved up placing us in a ridge that should keep temperatures warm for a while. Southerly winds should also make things bearable. For tomorrow, I expect temperatures and conditions to be formidable. Not as warm as today because of the cold front, but things should stay nice for the foreseeable future.

Snow last Night

Current Conditions

Temperature: 54°F
Feels Like: 48°F
Winds: Northwest @ 16 mph
Humidity: 38%
Dew Point: 29°F

Last night we saw some snowfall that caused some slick roads. This snow was wet and heavy but because of the warmth of today did not have a chance to stick around. Today has been much brighter as clear skies made up most of the day but now the clouds look to be moving in. With these clouds there should be no worry for precipitation as conditions look to stay dry for today and tomorrow. A cold front has decided to visit the area but with that moving through and a high pressure system on its way there should be some nice weather for tomorrow.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Current Conditions

Temperature: 42°F
Feels Like: 40°F
Winds: Northeast @ 8 mph
Humidity: 78%
Dew Point: 36°F

After teasing use with light showers the rain has finally started fall substantially. Temperatures continue to stay in the 40s but a warm up should be coming through. Currently there is low pressure to the south which is bringing in northeast winds. There is a substantial line sitting through the middle half of the country which continues to divide temperatures. This can be seen by the jet stream which has shifted to a meridianal shape. This shift from the jet stream and the movement of warm temperatures towards us should bring nicer weather. Rain should continue tonight but for tomorrow I predict a nice warm up with plenty of sun.

Where's the Sun?

Current Conditions

Temperature: 46°F
Feels Like: 42°F
Winds: East @ 12 mph
Humidity: 67%
Dew Point: 36°F

Predicting these types of days has become quite the routine as the clouds and the rain continued last night. There's been a lot of cloud cover and I have not see the sun in a while. The stationary front to the south still divides the country's temperatures with sub-50 in the north and much higher in the south. The front has also created some precipitation systems in the south. Low pressure can also be seen in these areas. Looking at the jet stream, it has shifted a little north which hopefully will help warm things up in the next few days. Air moisture is very low but we could see some freezing rain and possibly snow tonight. For tomorrow, because of the sluggishness of the stationary front, expect similar conditions, similar clouds, and similar temperature.

The Continued Routine

Current Conditions

Temperature: 42°F
Feels Like: 31°F
Winds: Northeast @ 18 mph
Humidity: 41%
Dew Point: 20°F

Today has oddly been pretty similar to yesterday. Cloudy and 42°F are the current conditions which are eerily similar to yesterday. There is a stationary front just to the south of Wisconsin which has created a divide in temperatures with cooler temperatures to the north and warmer temperatures to the south. High pressure has caused winds to continue and come from the northeast. These winds coupled with the moisture content of the air could bring some precipitation. Due to the current conditions, this trend could continue for a few more days. For tomorrow I expect temperatures to stay in the 40s with continued cloud cover and possibly some rain.

Again with the Clouds

Current Conditions

Temperature: 44°F
Feels Like: 32°F
Winds: Northeast @ 22 mph
Humidity: 67%
Dew Point: 34°F

Another cloudy day as it continues to be a little cold outside. The temperature is currently 44°F with winds from the northeast; and we know what that means! Inclement weather! Throughout the country there are many odd stationary fronts that are near low pressure systems. The very northern portions of the country are experiencing some dips in temperature due to these fronts while the rest of the country has some nice temperatures. The jet stream is currently affecting these temperatures and we are hoping for another lift of it. With the wind directions and moisture in the air I predict for some more precipitation for the foreseeable future along with lots of clouds.

Holiday Weekend

This weekend has been rather gloomy. For most of the weekend there was substantial cloud cover with the sun peaking out at times. Temperatures stayed relatively cool with highs only reaching into the lower 50s. There is currently overcast skies and the potential for precipitation is increasing. We could see some rain overnight and into tomorrow as there is a lot of water vapor in the air. For tomorrow I predict a cloudy day with the possibility of precipitation and similar temperatures.

Cooling Down

Current Conditions

Temperature:64°F
Feels Like: 61°F
Winds: West @ 22 mph
Humidity: 16%
Dew Point: 18°F

It was a very nice day today in the area. Temperatures did drop from yesterday but the conditions were very pleasant. There were some thunder and lightning last night brought in by a combination of systems moving through. A cold front last night has cooled temperatures off for today and another one that is beginning to move our way will drop temperatures a little more. There are multiple cold fronts throughout the US that will make the country feel a little colder for the next day or so. For tomorrow I predict a little cool down with no precipitation.

Warm!

Current Conditions

Temperature: 77°F
Feels Like: 77°F
Winds: South @ 16 mph
Humidity: 22%
Dew Point: 36°F

Today has been downright terrific! Temperatures soared into the upper 70s under some clear skies. A warm front has come through the area and brought these very nice conditions. Winds from the south should keep things warmer for a while. There is a cold front coming through right behind the warm front. This could front coupled with low pressure could bring some storms tonight. For tomorrow, because of the cold front, I predict that the temperatures will drop a little but things should be pleasant.

There Was Some Rain Today

Current Conditions

Temperature: 45°F
Feels Like: 38°F
Winds: East @ 7 mph
Humidity: 79%
Dew Point: 39°F

Today started off with some limited cloud cover but some light rain has moved into the area. As of now the clouds appear to be staying for a while and there could be some continued precipitation tonight as a low pressure moves through and there is currently wind from the east which we all know has some negative connotation to it. To the west there are warmer temperatures which should bring the warmth towards the area. For tomorrow I predict that the warmer temperatures move in.

Drought...Figuratively

Current Conditions

Temperature: 40°F
Feels Like: 29°F
Winds:WNW @ 18 mph
Humidity: 85%
Dew Point: 36°F

The past week has seen some colder temperatures with a lot of wind gusts driving those temperatures down. But, a warm up is coming soon. Today has been slightly wet throughout the day as this morning there were some freezing rain which has turned into a light drizzle, close to mist. The movement of a warm front followed closely followed by a cold front has caused some dreadful conditions. With these fronts moving through there should be some warmth coming. The moisture looks to moving out with some dry air coming through. For tomorrow expect a warm up but there could also be some precipitation.

Snow?

Current Conditions

Temperature: 35°F
Feels Like: 35°F
Winds: East @ 8 mph
Humidity: 43%
Dew Point: 15°F

This weekend has seen a dip in temperatures and even some snow. Thankfully the snow did not stick and should not cause any problems. Temperatures have been in the low to mid 30s all weekend. Winds from the east may cause some problems with continued cloud cover for the rest of the day and these clouds are not of the nice kind. A front is moving through the most of the country dropping temperatures through. For tomorrow it should be better than today as the clouds move out and humidity drops.

A Light Sprinkle

Current Conditions

Temperature: 45°F
Feels Like: 42°F
Winds: West @ 5 mph
Humidity: 73%
Dew Point: 37°F

The day started with some sun but clouds quickly moved in. There is a low that has brought some rain as I have noticed some light rain this afternoon. The small amounts of rain that have accumulated should be done as the moisture moves out and a cold front moves in. There are many lows and highs spread throughout the country as the Northeast got some more snow on this first day of summer. Tomorrow expect a drop in temperature as the cold front passes through tonight.

South winds!

Current Conditions

Temperature: 48°F
Feels Like: 42°F
Winds: South @ 13 mph
Humidity: 27%
Dew Point: 16°F

Today started of sunny but the clouds have moved in with winds from the southeast. This could bring a little bit of rain tonight. A low is to our west which could also increase the chance of rain. The rest of the country is seeing a lot of cloud cover in the east and south but the west looks clear. A lot of precipitation to the south. There is a stationary front in the southern United States which should be watched for now. For tomorrow I think we'll have a rather nice day with some warm-up.

A Little Chilly

Current Conditions

Temperature: 45°F
Feels Like: 45°F
Winds: SW @ 5 mph
Humidity: 26%
Dew Point: 12°F

My prediction held true as clouds moved in today and temperatures stayed similar to yesterday. High pressure is currently looming close to the area pushing winds up from the south. The cloud cover should stay a little longer and may continue into tomorrow. There is some moisture around but the dryness of the air should keep it in check. Gloomy skies over much of the country with numerous pressure systems throughout. For tomorrow expect another mundane cloudy day.

Boring Day

Current Conditions

Temperature: 44°F
Feels Like: 37°F
Winds: NW @ 15 mph
Humidity: 21%
Dew Point: 7°F

A little bit of a cool down from the past few days as a cold front moved through that continues to bring colder temperatures. Conditions are currently stable as there is plenty of sunshine. A high pressure system is driving north winds into the area which shouldn't bring much cold as it is on the edge of the air mass. To the west there is a lot of cloud cover and some precipitation that could bring some wetness. To the south the cold front continues to move and create a temperature divide. The East Coast has some snow. The jet stream has crept back down which shows why there is a pattern of coldness now. For tomorrow there should be a similar day with some more clouds.
